Living & Dining Rooms
The Greatroom is a combination living/dining-room with a 40-foot ceiling. Huge glass doors can either open the room to cool ocean breezes or protect it from occasional inclement weather while preserving the view. A separate TV room and library is air conditioned for comfort. If you need to conduct business on your vacation, a computer work station area with scanner/printer connects the Greatroom and the TV room.
The covered pavilion with its cushioned rattan furniture is the social heart of Greatview, and most guests find themselves drawn there throughout the day. Those who prefer to lounge in the sun can choose between the upper pool deck or the lower hot tub. Picture yourself here, on your perfect vacation in Jamaica, on the pool deck sipping on a cocktail, perfect!
Dine in the covered pavilion around the circular glass table (seats 10 - 18) or for more formal indoor dining table (seats 12). Light from the exquisite chandelier plays off the fine crystal, china and silver table settings. We can even arrange a 3-piece Jamaican band to provide dinner music!
Plan your menu in detail with the Chef from his extensive repertoire of international dishes and Jamaican specialties – which he can make as mild or as spicy as your tastebuds dictate - or just tell him to "bring it on" and enjoy!
Art & Decor
Pineapple lamps traced to original owner Bing Crosby and 18th-century soldiers carrying Greatview's dinner gong are just a few of the many antiques and collectibles to be found throughout Greatview. The works of well-known and emerging Jamaican artists dot the walls, with a Jamaican folk art collection prominently displayed as well. A collection of salt and pepper shakers will delight you at every meal.
